Dear consigners
I hope everyone had a good Christmas and New Year’s. The 2021 Kentucky Beef Expo is fast approaching. With that said, there was a question as to whether it would be held in its normal place or a different location. This was due to the fairgrounds being used as a Covid site and restrictions by the state. After a lot of work it has been decided that it can still be held at the Kentucky Exposition Center as normal. We are allowed to have in-person bidding and will also have DV auctions on the internet. With it being this late getting the go ahead to have it, the entry deadline is not going to be far out. I decided not to send this letter out until everything was set in stone, so there was not confusion. The show will be Friday, March 5th and the sale will be Saturday morning, March 6th. Cattle will need to arrive on Thursday the 4th before 3PM unless other arrangements are made in advance. The entry deadline is January 17th. This gives us just enough time to get the catalog together and get it in the mail in enough time for people to make plans. There will be a Covid waver that will need to be signed just like there was at the North American. Everyone that enters the fairgrounds (buyers and sellers) will need to do this. There will be more information on this closer to the event. You will be able to find the form online, to be printed and filled out prior to arrival. Masks will be have to be worn while inside the buildings at the fairgrounds. EID tags are required, NO METAL tags due to some states not excepting them. I would also encourage your vet to call the Kentucky state vet office to make sure there are no special tests, especially if you are from outside of the state.
