ARPA National Sale

The 73rd Annual National American Red Poll Association sale was held September 30, 2017 at Murray State University, Murray, Kentucky.

29 live animals averaged $1,705 with individual averages as follows:  13 open heifers averaged $1,224, 4 bred heifers averaged $1,950, 3 bred cows averaged $1,800, 3 cow calf pairs averaged $2,150 and 6 bulls averaged $2,317.

The top selling open heifer was Lot 5, Mardan’s K 6161 selling for $2,500.  She was sold by Mardan Acres, Dan & Mary Jo Schmiesing of St. Henry, Ohio.  She was born 11/10/2016.  Her sire is Tamihana Toms Kingsley CP and Dam is Mardan Mr 997. She was purchased by Good Life Ranch, Geoff McPherson of Liberty, Kentucky.

he top selling bred heifer was Lot 24 DFM Emma M136 selling for $3,600.  She was sold by McCall Show Cattle, David McCall of Shelbyville, Kentucky.  She was born 3/10/2016.  Her sire is JM Luke and Dam is Young’s EN Emily 13. She is bred to DFM Power Ranger.  She was purchased by Canebrake Farms, Faron Daniels of Collinwood, Tennessee.

The top selling bred cow was Lot 26, JF Linda selling for $1,700.  She was sold by Jackson Farms of Greens Fork, Indiana.  She was born 5/6/2009.  Her sire is J.F. Y2K Compatibl and Dam is Parkstyle T-Bone Linda 102. She is bred to Doll’s “C” Pikeville.  She was purchased by Jan & Edsel Belyew of Big Sandy, Tennessee.

The top selling cow calf pair was Lot 30 RFFM Rose 8Y selling for $2,300.  She was sold by Fairchild Farms, Brian Fairchild of Everton, Arkansas.  She was born 4/19/2011.  Her sire is Arrow Rock PL 718 and Dam is Lazy “S” Rhonda’s Girl.  She sold with an April heifer calf at her side sired by SMC Promise Keeper and bred back to SMC Promise Keeper. She was purchased by Jan & Edsel Belyew of Big Sandy, Tennessee.

The top selling bull was Lot 33 DFM Power Ranger selling for $4,000.  He was sold by McCall Show Cattle, David McCall of Shelbyville Kentucky.  He was born 6/25/2016.  His sire is Lazy S Powerhouse and Dam DFM Suez. He was purchased by Koch Family Farms, Jeff Koch of Oldenburg, Indiana.

Cattle were sold into 7 states with the states being Tennessee, Indiana, Kentucky, Mississippi, Ohio, Arkansas, and Kansas.
