We have a small farm in Washington, and recently purchased a larger ranch in Montana which we are desiring to stock with some Red Polls.

In light of the drought situation, I was wondering if anyone at the Red Poll association knew of any breeders that may need to down size. We would be interested in leasing or partnering with someone who needed to reduce herd size. Our Montana ranch is capable of running an extra 500 head, in very lush river bottoms and irrigated pastures. I am a Cattle Nutritionist and have a long cattle history and managing a herd would not be an issue. We had planned to move to Montana after building a larger herd from retained females, and purchases using funds from work. If we were able to get a few more cattle through a joint venture or lease arrangement we would make the move to Montana earlier than originally planned.

If you come across someone looking to downsize, or just needing to reduce their stocking rate due to the drought please have them contact me.

Thank you.

Two Bull Calves provided by Jeff Wilkins
Comments: Wilkshire will be weaning two bulls in 3 weeks that have super potential. They are from dams that are in the top 5% of our herd. Their brothers are in other herds now, producing very profitable calves. They have low birth weights, high weaning weights with very high EPD's. Their DNA test shows high grades for success. They will be wormed and vaccinated at weaning with quality medications. These bulls are what people have been demanding for success and they are ready to go. Inquire by email jdw.wilkshire@gmail.com or 336-538-0888.
